Growing Leaders Through Golf

The RCGA Foundation supports Canadian student golfers and the development of Canadian university and college golf programs. Our mandate is to raise funds for Canadian college and university scholarships and programs related to golf.

Since 1982, the RCGA Foundation has awarded over $1.9 million in scholarships to promising young golfers, landscape architects and turfgrass scientists. This scholarship program was funded through generous donations from corporations, golf clubs, associations and individual friends of golf. The RCGA, Canadian Seniors Golf Association, ClubLink Corp., and Nu-Gro Corporation continue to play important roles in contributing to our scholarship fund each year.

Since 2005, the focus of the RCGA Foundation has shifted to offering Canadian athletes the opportunity to stay in Canada to continue their post-secondary education while continuing to compete and train at a very high level.

Did you know that 426 Canadians are playing golf for US colleges?

The RCGA Foundation has created the Canadian University/College Support Program with an initial donation of $1 million from the RCGA to support golf programs at Canadian universities and colleges giving student athletes the choice to stay in Canada . Eight universities are currently receiving $25,000 annually in support of their golf programs and scholarships for student athletes.

The money raised in support of the Canadian University/College Support Program will be endowed and the proceeds used only for the support of the universities and students. Overhead for the RCGA Foundation is being absorbed by the RCGA. The university and college golf programs will work with the RCGA Player Development department to ensure quality programming. We need your help to grow this program and ensure universities and colleges in your community can keep our best and brightest at home.
