The Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) Volunteer Recognition Program is a meaningful way to provide recognition for outstanding performance and contributions by a volunteer who has played an instrumental role in supporting amateur golf in Canada . Individuals volunteer for many reasons: personal growth, personal achievement, to create social bonds and strengthen their community. If you know of someone whose efforts are worthy of recognition, we encourage you to make a submission. A minimum of one volunteer will be honoured once a month during the golf season (May-October). At the end of the year, the RCGA will select the most exceptional volunteer based on the monthly recognition recipients to receive the prestigious RCGA Volunteer of the Year – Award of Excellence. The RCGA is dedicated to promoting participation in and a passion for the game while protecting its traditions and integrity.

ELIGIBILITY

Individuals who have made a contribution to amateur golf in Canada during the current golf season, particularly through RCGA events, women's programs and initiatives, junior programs, education programs, fundraising or administration. The following individuals who are actively affiliated with the RCGA are not eligible for nomination: RCGA Governors and staff, provincial golf association board members and staff and provincial presidents. Associate members of the RCGA and provincial golf associations are eligible.

SELECTION

Volunteer of the Month:
We would like to hear about individuals in your community, club or province who have made a valuable contribution to the game and deserve recognition. An individual can be nominated for a variety of reasons; be it that the nominee has performed an exceptional task, made a generous commitment of their time or taken on a leadership role with respect to a program or event. The deadline for nominations will be the last day of every month. The RCGA will review all nominations and the selection will be made on the Friday of the following week .

RCGA Volunteer of the Year – Award(s) of Excellence:

The selection for Volunteer of the Year – Award of Excellence will be determined by the RCGA before December 1st. The RCGA membership committee will forward recommendation from the monthly recipients to the RCGA Executive committee who will determine which volunteer is most deserving of recognition for excellence in outstanding performance and contribution. The criteria for selection of the RCGA Volunteer of the Year – Award of Excellence will be based on the following: An individual who has been pro-active in the delivery of golf programs and services, dedicated to promoting and expanding the sport of golf in their club, region or at national venues within the current golf season. The RCGA will also recognize an individual volunteer from the monthly recipients who has promoted participation and a passion for the women's segment following the same criteria for selection of the RCGA Women's Programs and Initiatives Volunteer of the Year - Award of Excellence.
