Mementos of a Champion
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Mike Weir’s first PGA tour victory. As 2009 passes us by, the Bright's Grove, Ont. native will have many more reasons to celebrate.
To recognize his outstanding career accomplishments and his status as an excellent role model for young Canadian golfers, Mike Weir was named to the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame in early 2009. To celebrate all of these accomplishments and to honour Mike Weir as an individual, the CGHF is pleased to announce a special short-term exhibit featuring important memorabilia from Mike’s personal collection. “Mementos from a Champion” will feature various trophies, golf equipment and clothing which Mike has kept as reminders of his fantastic career.
Visitors to the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame can view the exhibit from July 20 to October 31, with regular admission.
The Canadian Golf Hall of Fame to induct Mike Weir in 2009!
The Canadian Golf Hall of Fame and the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) are proud to announce that Mike Weir has been elected as the 2009 inductee into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame.
With his induction, the Bright’s Grove, Ont. native becomes the 64th honoured member of the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame. Weir also becomes the 20th male professional golfer in the Hall of Fame and matches George Knudson with the most victories by inductees who have played on the PGA Tour.
