Canadian Golf Hall of Fame & Museum

What's On

The CGHF Across Canada

It is one of the objectives of the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame to reach beyond the walls of the museum, located in Glen Abbey, telling the stories and history of golf in Canada.  We do this through our website, community events and travelling exhibitions.  This year the CGHF will reach many audiences as we have three locations where our displays will be featured.

To celebrate the Canadian North Midnight Golf Classic, taking  place in Yellowknife, NWT June 19-20, the CGHF will be delivering a small exhibition on the history of the game, including features on golf course  architecture and the development of golf equipment.  This unique event will take place at a time when most golfers never get the chance to hit the course, midnight on the longest day of the year.  There will also be a contingency of CGHF Honoured Members who will be taking part in the golf tournament.  This exhibit, and the participation of the Hall of Famers is sponsored by Canadian North and the Yellowknife Golf Club. For further information about this event visit www.yellowknifegolf.com.

Another of the CGHF travelling exhibits will be heading to the Woodstock Museum in Woodstock, Ontario.  During the summer months, visitors to the Woodstock Museum will be treated to an extensive history of golf.  Guests will be able to learn how wooden golf clubs were made along with learning about greenkeeping, the humour of the game and more.  It is truly amazing how technology has changed the game of golf.  To learn more about this short-term exhibit visit
www.woodstockmuseum.com.

If that weren’t enough, the CGHF will also be featured at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Alberta.  From June until September an exhibit featuring women’s golf and the history of the game in Alberta will be on display.  Visitors will not only have the opportunity to learn about the history of golf and the role of women but will also view a collection of artifacts from the CGHF including the CN Canadian Women’s Open trophy.  All the information that you will need to plan your trip to Spruce Meadows can be found at

Trophy to visit RBC Branches

To help raise awareness of the RBC Canadian Open, RBC and the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame have organized a tour of the RBC Canadian Open trophy.  It will be on display in Oakville and Burlington RBC branches.

The trophy will be at the following locations from 11am to 2pm.  Visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions about the trophy and the upcoming tournament, being held from July 20th- 26th at Glen Abbey Golf Club. Those visiting the branches will also have the opportunity to have their picture taken with the trophy.
