After losing his sight in a dynamite explosion in 1948, Claude Pattemore took up golf three years later at the insistence of a friend. By the following year, he was the best blind golfer in the country and continued a career as one of North America’s premier blind golfers for more than 20 years. He was the International and U.S. Blind Golfers’s Champion in 1963 and was a 12-time winner of the Canadian Blind Golfers’s Championship between 1952 and 1972
